I am in for a long day today. It’s about a quarter to 8AM as I write this now, and I’m sitting at work, waiting to be able to clock on. I got here about half an hour early this morning. I guess it was nerves…
You see, I have a phone interview set up today at 5:30PM for a job to work at the Apple Store in Lenox Square Mall in Buckhead, Atlanta. I’m nervous and yet wholly excited if this all works out – I could have some extra income this school year and be able to afford little things here and there, not to mention the Disney trip I want to go with Tricia on this New Year’s… and helping her feel financially secure in Atlanta is a big part of it too. But… Comcast is still a bucket of fail and hasn’t reconnected the phone line they accidently cut (seriously now, who DOESN’T survey land when they dig??) and I have crappy cell coverage at home, so it looks like this phone interview will be done from the seat of my car in a quiet (cell-covered) parking lot…. somewhere.
So my MacBook Pro came in! The same day I got the initially email from Apple, too. XD That was this past Thursday, and I have spent every day loving this beautiful machine. I’ve got it just about entirely set up – the only thing left at this rate is for The Sims 3 to arrive with Splash’s package so I can install it and torture explore the Sims community. Meanwhile, I have the white Macbook all set up to be wiped and reformatted with a fresh install when I sell it to Talon come Thursday when he is paid. I’ll miss it, actually. That computer was a fantastic companion… so to speak.
Egads. Time to work. I’ll try to add to this later, but if I don’t, wish me luck!
Man, I hate giftgiving. It’s awkward for me. I mean, I love to buy things for other people, but I really am terrible at deciding what to get for someone and I constantly fret over my purchases wondering if they’re “good enough”, or if I’ve typecasted anyone into a category they don’t want to be in or don’t see themselves in. I don’t want to belittle anyone with their gift, yet I don’t want to overwhelm someone and have them feel awkward that, perhaps, THEIR gift isn’t good enough to me (which really shouldn’t be a worry they should have – I’m grateful for anything really). And I want the gift to be something… they want, yknow? Not just “oh, this reminded me of you” “hey thanks, this is going to sit on my shelf and collect a fine layer of dust because, yknow, what the hell were you thinking?”…
So… Yeah. I wanted to get the stress of giftgiving off my chest. I still have people to shop for and, somehow, I have to get these gifts from here in Seaside, OR, to Atlanta or Augusta. I saw that Kiki did this and I… well, honestly, it looked fun. And I wanted to try to eliminate some of the stress people may have if they chose to shop for me (which, I really, really hope nobody went out of their way to. Maybe like… 2 people who read this who I see regularly might)… so yeah – here’s a link to my wishlist which I hope will help some people. As I said, this was mostly inspired because it was fun, so I put things on there that I would like, but not things I expect anyone to necessarily purchase for me. I want to emphasize that… mostly so I don’t seem greedy… because there are a few items on there that are costly… Yeah.
Also, feel free to use this for a birthday wishlist, in case anyone feels that they want to get me something for my birthday… It only makes sense, as my birthday is relatively close to Christmas (January 21st).
I have a lot to catch up on, so let’s dive right into it.
First off: TONSILLOLITHS. I think I have this. It’s where these white chunks that smell icky appear in the back of your throat sometimes. It’s merely irksome though – to fix it I’d have to get a tonsillectomy… and I don’t think I have the time/money for it. *shrug*
Next up: “Depth Solitude”. My last formal class for Film was a week ago this past Friday, and we watched this short film. Give it a watch and tell me what you think (I’m interested); I was lucky enough to find it on YouTube:
Next up: awesome commercial I saw.
I wasn’t going to talk about it until I embed it and you supposedly watched it, because otherwise it kills the surprise and the humor. :P But man, what an idea for creating needless suspense. XD I love it.
After that I have: Smashing Pumpkins “1979″. I just recently rediscovered this song – I really like it. I went and bought it off iTunes. It’s pretty magnificent… give it a listen sometime. Along the lines of music, I laughed well and hard at the beginning of R. Kelly’s “Bump N Grind” after I found out what it is. XD
Another thing: IKEA. Hopefully everyone knows my love for IKEA; after all, they are pretty effin’ amazing. I plan to furnish as much of my dorm room at Phi Kap with them next semester as I can. :P But I saw this commercial on YouTube and I couldn’t help but laugh:
Jeez, I’ve embeded a lot. Finally, I went to Atlanta today to see Seph and her boyfriend Matt (who is pretty cool, though we didn’t really have too much of a proper conversation). We went to the aquarium and then Little Five Points (pictures of which can be found here). It was a bit of a fiasco organizing it last second, but fun nevertheless. I don’t have much to say about it, though – I had fun and it was good seeing people again, but somehow it made me miss Tricia, who broke the news to me today she might not be finishing in the Fall after all. =/
And, at last, I have more survey for you all:
HOW YOU THINK
(63) What’s on your mind more than anything else?: Trish. YEAH SAPPY I KNOW. <3
(64) Mind over heart, or heart over mind?: …That’s tough. I’m gonna go with neither/both, as it takes a delicate balance between the two to thrive.
(65) Do you go on instinct?: Sometimes. Like when I’m hungry. Otherwise I go on societal standards.
(66) Emotion you believe should be repressed?: Lust.
(67) Worst method of dieing?: Anything slow, drawn out, and excruciatingly painful.
(68) Would you die for a worthless bum?: Nope, because he’s worthless. If he weren’t worthless, then I dunno. Depends on the circumstance. But, c’mon, worthless? I wouldn’t waste my life for worthlessness.
(69) Would you die for your enemy (or if you don’t have one, your most dislike/hated person)?: Probably not.
(70) Would you want any tattoos/body piercings?: I don’t know if I can handle big needles. :X
(71) Which century do you prefer to be sent back to?: This one? I’d like to see ancient Rome for a day, maybe.
(72) Preferred supernatural power?: Mind reading/telekinesis. :3 And teleportation.
(73) Describe a magical item you want: I always thought Harry Potter’s invisibility cloak would be cool to have. :3
(74) Would a million dollars convince you to drop school? What about three? If not, how much?: A million dollars gets you nowhere nowadays. If my salary were $100K, a million is only 10 years of pay – I need more to live longer. @_@ Maybe 10 or 15 million dollars would be sufficient bargaining to make me quit school.
(75) Biggest regret?: That one night.
(76) Last regret?: I can’t think of any. @_@
(77) Last mean thought?: Last night I think I just wanted a few people to go away. XD
(78) Wish you were more…: Fit? And funny – I like amusing others.
(79) Wish you were less…: Cynical, probably.
(80) Wish everyone were more…: Aware of their surroundings and their actions.
(81) What do you want to do over?: My CS2261 final project could’ve been better if I put more effort into it.
(82) Person you hate/dislike the most?: But I don’t…!
(83) Too late to…: What?
(84) Describe the perfect weather: Sunny, warm, but with a cool light breeze… maybe 1 or 2 fluffy clouds. :3
(85) (^^”) You wish Fish was more…: The original question here was “you wish Dalena was more…” and, of course, I got it from her. I’ll answer to her, too, but the rest of you are stuck answering to me. XD I wish Dalena was closer, though. :P
(86) Love it when a girl…: Snuggles. XD Or laughs. :3
(87) Love it when a guy…: Just laughs for this one. I love laughter. :)
(88) Fondest memory?: Anything from Seaside or Eugene. <3
(89) Most haunting memory?: Get back to me on this one if you’re terribly curious.
(90)The age old question; Loved and lost, or never have loved?: Definitely the first.
(91) Believe in ghosts/spirits?: That’s a toughie. I think so… It just seems ludicrous not to have them.
(92) Believe in extraterrestrial beings?: But of course. Again, ludicrous not to have them. The universe is just so big!
(93) Believe in fate?: Nah.
(94) Believe in luck?: …Whaddya mean? Luck is indisputable. @_@
(95) What do you consider your one biggest belief?: Everyone has some good in them.
(96) Most despised religion out there?: Scientology. Blegh. After that it’s pretty much anyone who is way too fucking devote.
(97) Name some things you would rather not touch?: Another penis than my own. XD And poop. x_x
(98) Think of a person you haven’t for a long time. Who’s that person?: Mikel Wein. I wonder how he’s doing.
(99) Whose scent do you like most?: Tricia’s. Duh. XD
(100) Which nonhuman scent do you favor most?: Hm. The ocean… by far. :)
(101) What everyday task do you dislike?: Hygiene, mostly. It’s a lot of effort to merely maintain.
(102) Do you want a particular person to fall madly in love with you? (No, you don’t have to say who): No?
(103) Fill in the blanks; You love __ __ __ but you __ __ more despite the fact that ____________. I love to eat badly but I hate it more despite the fact that it tastes so goooood.
(104) Someone close to you asks for you to drive a dagger through them, would you do it?: Ask them why?
(105) What do you want to experience?: Whatever life throws at me. And a threesome. XD Kidding.
(106) Which country do you want to visit most? The UK, really. I just wanna see it.
(107) You would never…: give you up, let you down, run around and desert you.
(108) What comforts you most?: the comfort of those close to me.
(109) Agree with survival for the fittest?: Hell yes.
So after toying with software, I've come up with some win. Chatroulette + "The Brave Little Toaster" = epic nostalgia reactions. Hell yes.03:54:31 AM March 11, 2010from web
